Thoughts On Burma From Someone Who's Been There.

"For those who have been following the damage done by the Cyclone Nargis last Saturday, you know that the numbers being reported continue to go up."

"Right now, for instance, there are reports of 800 tons of rice sitting in a warehouse that cannot be distributed because local bureaucrats will not give permission for it to be distributed. As outrageous as that sounds to western ears, it is typical of the Burmese government."
